This committee was formed to manage a continuing membership drive for the purpose of enlarging, expanding and/or maintaining the membership of the Association. They review the Association membership of every unit in the state and provide assistance to those units who are reporting membership percentages below the state average. This committee also reviews and recommends benefit programs for the members of the Association, as well as actively seek income-generating benefit programs for the Association and its members.
This committee reviews the Articles of Incorporation to insure it is meeting the needs of the Association. They also point out any violations of the By-Laws by the Executive Council or standing committees. Additionally they administratively review, study and make recommendations both "pro" and "con" with reference to any amendments/changes suggested by the Executive Council, committee or motions made at the annual meeting business sessions.
The Benefits committee reviews and recommends benefit programs for the members of the Association. Actively seeks income-generating benefit programs for the Association and its members. They also review the NCNGA budget (and affected line items) before recommending any projects or programs to the Executive Council that require funding.
The Convention Planning committee plans and carries out the duties necessary to host an annual convention. This is done by developing a convention theme and related events to accent the selected theme. They also select entertainment for social functions and adhere to the convention budget.
This committee prepares and recommends the budget of the Association in sections relating to general administration and the magazine in its various editions. Additionally they recommend depositories and types of investments for the funds of the Association and review Statement of Investment Policy for compliance.
The Legislative and Resolutions committee develops and recommends the legislative policy of the Association and drafts proposed legislative bills. It is responsible for providing members of the North Carolina General Assembly with information regarding the North Carolina National Guard.
The Communications committee recommends policies, procedures and programs with respect to editorial, business, advertising, circulation, and promotional aspects of the magazine and website.
